Minimize Heat Loss by Creating a Barrier Between Bare Feet and the Floor

SunTouch Floor Heating Mats Eliminate Cold Feet

My feet are always cold. I wear slippers in the summer. Granny slippers, as my husband affectionately calls them. Heat loss through my feet is a serious deal for me. When I visit my parents I turn green with envy because they have a heated tile floor. My feet wander around bare and free when we walk the halls of their remarkable heated tile floor. As I build my dream house in my mind, the tile and hardwood floors are sprawled over electric heated floor mats, and my granny slippers are tossed into a dusty forgotten corner.

It is simple really, to minimize heat loss through the feet; one must first create a barrier between bare feet and the floor. Using a heated floor mat creates that barrier is a cost-efficient, easy-to-install method of doing just that. Heating your floor with under floor radiant heating mats is a project that can often be done at any stage of home building. A heated floor is surprisingly simple to install under tile, hardwood, or even carpeted floor. Many people enjoy the benefits of a slipper-less existence. One day I will too! For now I better go schedule another visit to foot heaven, er, I mean my parent’s house.
