SunTouch® Radiant Floor Heating Mats
SunTouch® electric radiant
heating mats by Watts Radiant are designed to
gently heat tile and stone floors in bathrooms,
kitchens, entry ways and sunrooms. SunTouch floor
heating systems are very cost-effective solutions
for smaller spaces (1-5 rooms) because they are
easy to install and have a very low start-up cost. An
electric digital thermostat is all that is required to
operate an under-tile heating system by SunTouch,
and costs only about $100-$200. SunTouch heated
floor mats offer many advantages over warm-water
(hydronic) systems. Floor buildup is kept to minimum and
there are no structural weight loads to consider,
common challenges to a traditional hot water
radiant heating systems. SunTouch mats are installed
directly onto concrete board or the subfloor just
prior to setting the tile or stone.
SunTouch customers benefit from a faster
installation of which most DIY homeowners can
tackle. If you are not up for the task, most tile
setters already have experience with SunTouch
floor warming systems and can easily add this to
their installation. You will not regret having warm
tile. Floor warming systems are a distinguishing feature
to any home and provide much needed heat to tile floors.
SunTouch offers two varieties of electric
radiant heat. The most popular is the mat system
which incorporates a single cable weaved onto a bright
orange mat for proper spacing of the cable and quicker
installations. Another popular SunTouch product is
WarmWire®, a slim conductive wire that can be
used to warm small bathrooms or larger areas like a
kitchen or even an entire basement. These larger
areas can be warmed with multiple cables wired in
parallel. WarmWire uses a stainless steel covering
for durability and is less expensive than the standard
SunTouch floor heating mat.
SunTouch floor heating mats use a built in
return meaning that you only have one end to
connect instead of having to close the circuit by
bringing both ends of the wire back to the thermostat.
This new SunTouch design results in a much quicker
installation. Electric radiant heat mats by
SunTouch have taken the hard work out of the
installation by enabling the floor warming cable
to be pre-spaced onto a nylon mesh. All you need
to do is find a suitable thermostat location and roll
the SunTouch floor warming system out over the
floor. SunTouch saves you time and money!
